"For more than two decades, William Pope.L has used his provocative and often amusing art to investigate the nature of race in America. The artist, who describes himself as “the friendliest black artist in America,” created his poster in conjunction with his touring Black Factory. For this project, the artist and his assistants, including Miss Black Factory, traveled the country in a panel truck that unfolded to an interactive exhibition—workshop, inflatable igloo archive, and gift shop rolled into one. The signed print incorporates Pope.L’s signature rubber duckie and, on the reverse, a view of the artist’s head."
